Vintage Japanese Buddhist Altar Fitting Offering Cup Stand
This is a vintage Japanese offering cup stand for a Buddhist altar. Also called bukki, this important altar accessory is made of resin and painted dark red with gold accents on the front three sides. It has a simple hexagonal shape with cutouts on all sides. It is often used in pairs or a trio to hold small cups of rice, sake, and more as an offering to Buddha and one's ancestors.
