Vintage Chinese Folding Fan Sensu
This is a traditional Chinese decorative folding fan called sensu in Japanese. The front side of this fan features portraits of the Ten Marshals of the People's Republic of China. Each general has his name and a short biography written under his picture. The Ten Marshals are: Zhu De, Peng Dehuai, Lin Biao, Liu Bocheng, He Long, Chen Yi, Luo Ronghuan, Xu Xiangqian, Nie Rongzhen, and Ye Jianying. The back side features black calligraphy on a patterned background. This is made with a natural bamboo frame, brushed lacquered on the lateral edges, with silk pasted on paper.
